Membership to the Key City Kennel Club is open to all persons who are in good standing with the American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of this club. While membership is not restricted to residence, the club's primary purpose is to be representative of the breeders, exhibitors and dog enthusiasts in Mankato, Minnesota, and the surrounding areas.
After an invitation or request for membership, each applicant fills out an application form and agrees to abide by the KCKC constitution and by-laws and the rules of the American Kennel Club. Each application must also be signed by two club members who have been in good standing for more than a year. Payment for the current year's dues should accompany the application.
All applications are filed with the KCKC Secretary, and each application is read at the first meeting of the club following receipt. At the next meeting, the application is entered for the second reading, and then the application is voted on by secret written ballot. Affirmative votes of three-fourths of the membership present and voting at the meeting are required to elect the applicant.
Anyone whose application has been rejected by the club may not reapply for at least six months.
Interested in joining KCKC? Applications are available at club meetings, and at the training center.
