Shannon Lloyd is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), Alliance of Therapy Dogs Tester/Observer (ATD T/O), and AKC STAR Puppy and Canine Good Citizen Evaluator (She is also a Master Gardener volunteer for the University of Minnesota Extension Service.)
At Key City Kennel Club she teaches Basic Obedience, Practical Life Skills, and Therapy Dog Preparation. (She also teaches STAR Puppy classes at a local veterinary practice.) She has been teaching dog obedience/pet dog manners since 2011 at various facilities. She shares her home with a lively English setter mix and joyful yellow Lab as well as two senior felines!
Shannon's methods guide pet parents through the challenges of raising a well-behaved canine companion. In other words, a dog you can trust at home to follow your rules as well as be proud of when you take him out into the community!
As a CPDT-KA, she brings the most current science based, humane training methods to her classes. She will teach you how to train your dog without pain, fear, and force. She values respect--for the dog and student!
As a Tester/Observer for the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, she teaches pet handler teams the skills needed to become effective volunteers. (The Alliance of Therapy Dogs is a national organization which provides certification and registration for qualified pet therapy teams.) ATD volunteers visit people of all ages, in many different locations, and bring smiles and joy to all! (If you have questions about becoming a volunteer, please reach out to Shannon directly.)
